The fog was hanging low, like it couldn’t decide if it wanted to stay or move on. Someone left a half-eaten sandwich on a bench nearby, and the pigeons seemed to have a meeting about it. The streetlights flickered just enough to make you question if they were broken or just tired. There’s a smell of coffee from a corner shop that’s been open since forever, and a guy with a beat-up backpack walks by humming a tune that sounds vaguely familiar but not quite.
It’s the kind of place where you can almost hear the city breathing, or maybe it’s just the traffic. The day drifts on, and the moment just sort of hangs there, like it forgot what it was supposed to be doing next.
